Purchases made on Amazon

If you bought your Kanpeki Lab product through Amazon, including via the "Buy on Amazon" links on this website, your purchase is a contract with Amazon (or the relevant Amazon seller), and all returns, refunds and cancellations are governed by Amazon's own returns process and policies, not by this page. Please start any return or refund request from your Amazon account. The 1-year guarantee described below still applies to your product regardless of where you bought it.

14-day returns, for any reason

If you buy directly from us online, you may return your order for any reason within 14 days, beginning the day after you receive your goods. This applies to all customers, wherever you are in the world. You do not need to give a reason.

To return for a change of mind, the product must be unused and in its original condition and packaging, complete with any inserts and documentation. You may inspect and handle the product as you would in a shop to check it is what you ordered. Because our tampers and tools are precision instruments, if the product is used beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and characteristics, for example tamping coffee, scratching, or otherwise marking the base or shaft, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value, or decline the return if the item can no longer be sold as new.

Your statutory rights (UK customers)

If you are a consumer in the UK, the 14-day return above runs alongside your legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and nothing in this policy reduces your statutory rights. To exercise your statutory right to cancel, tell us clearly that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods by emailing hello@kanpekilab.com with your order number. A model cancellation form is available on request. Once you have told us you are cancelling, you have a further 14 days to return the goods.

How to start a return

Email us at hello@kanpekilab.com with your order number and, for a faulty or damaged item, a short description and clear photos or videos of the issue. We will confirm the next steps and the return address. Please do not send anything back before you receive return instructions from us.

Return postage

For a change-of-mind return, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. If the item is faulty, damaged or not as described, we cover return postage. We recommend a tracked service and keeping proof of postage, as you are responsible for the goods until they reach us.

Refunds

We refund all payments received from you for returned goods, including standard delivery cost. We are not required to refund any supplementary cost arising from your choice of a more expensive delivery method, and shipping fees, duties and taxes may be non-refundable where permitted. Refunds are issued to your original payment method, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back, or after you provide proof you have returned them, whichever is earlier. The time it takes to appear in your account depends on your bank or card provider.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please inspect your order on delivery and contact us as soon as possible if anything is wrong. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If your item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, we will arrange a replacement, repair or refund at no cost to you, including return postage. Depending on the issue, we may resolve a case with replacement parts (such as a replacement spring), a replacement item, or a refund.

1-year guarantee

Every Kanpeki Lab tamper is backed by a 1-year guarantee against manufacturing defects, such as calibration faults or material defects under normal use, for one year from the date of delivery. The guarantee is separate from, and additional to, your 14-day return and your statutory rights:

  • The 14-day return is a short window for changing your mind on a direct online order and results in a refund.
  • The 1-year guarantee covers manufacturing defects for one year from delivery and is normally resolved by repair or replacement rather than a cash refund.
  • The guarantee does not cover normal wear (including spring fatigue over extended use), accidental damage, misuse, improper care, unauthorized modification, or cosmetic marks from ordinary use.

To make a guarantee claim, whether you bought from us directly or on Amazon, email hello@kanpekilab.com with a description, photos of the issue, and proof of purchase.

Cancellations

You may cancel an order before it ships at no cost. Once an order has been processed or shipped, please use the return process above.
